Blast from the past: Is Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodland) returning to Y&R as Devon’s lawyer?
The latest spoilers for The Young and the Restless call for the return of a well-known character to the CBS soap opera. Every time someone needs a lawyer, Brittany Hodges is always remembered. This time it looks like Devon (Bryton James) is in need of good legal assistance. Will Lauren Woodland resume her role as Brittany Hodges on the show to help Devon in his corporate battle with sister Lily Winters (Christel Khalil)?
Brittany Hodges’s Y&R appearances over the years
Fans of Y&R are aware that whenever Brittany’s name is mentioned, someone is often involved in a legal dispute. Vanessa Lee Evigan originated the role in December 1999 and appeared on a recurring basis for a few months before she was replaced by Lauren Woodland in March 2000. The character gained more attention and became entangled in a number of sensational plotlines.
Brittany might have had a rough start in Y&R but she softened with time and became a successful lawyer. Lauren Woodland reprised her part for Y&R’s 45th anniversary in March of 2018. During this visit, she revealed that she and Raul (David Lago), her former love interest, had married. She also shared that her son Joshua was attending Harvard back then. She made a second appearance in June and then multiple times in 2019.

Viewers may remember, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) sought Brittany’s legal assistance when he needed a decent lawyer to represent him in the custody battle with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) over their son, Christian Newman (Alex Wilson). Next, Sharon (Sharon Case) also hired her when she needed to prove her innocence in the court after J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) was supposed to have been murdered.
In October, Brittany was preparing to investigate Katherine Chancellor’s (late Jeanne Cooper) will after Cane (Daniel Goddard) provided a document naming him as the beneficiary. Then, about a year later, in late 2020, she also represented Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) in his legal battle against the Abbotts for his share in his grandmother Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) fortune.

Is Brittany Hodges returning to Y&R in 2023?
Devon claims that Lily is holding his business hostage and pressuring him to choose between selling it or going public. Meanwhile, Lily is attempting to maintain their unity. She is accused by Devon of personalizing a work-related choice. He is reminded by Lily that he previously favored the merger.

Devon doesn’t care about the business or cash. Lily can give him all the money in the world, but she will still force him to build an empire from nothing. Devon scoffed as Lily implored him to see this as an opportunity. If this goes to court, their relationship will never be the same. Devon’s ongoing issue is a perfect time for Woodland’s character to return to Y&R.
