Y&R dropped a shocking bombshell on fans last week by bringing Susan Walters back on the screen. The actress played the role of Diane Jenkins, Jack’s ex-flame and the mother of Kyle Abbott. However, this time, she is back with a new identity. As seen in a recent episode, Diane is now known as Taylor Jensen, and she apparently has got some unfinished business with Jack.
On the heels of this shocking revelation, Y&R has shared another news. Fan-favorite Kyle Abbott, who left town last year, will be back in action soon. It’s a well-known soap opera trend to bring back characters from the dead when their bodies aren’t discovered. But sometimes, characters return when they are killed on camera as well.
It wasn’t long ago when JT Hellstrom resurrected after we watched Nikki knock him out with a fire poker then bury him with the help of Victoria, Sharon, and Phyllis.
Back in 2011, Nikki also killed Diane Jenkins when she bashed her in the head in self-defense. All these years, everyone believed that Diane was dead. But 11 years later, we find out that she hasn’t died either. She had faked her death and been kicking around going by the name Taylor Jensen.

Diane aka Taylor’s return is sure to blow away Jack and Nikki but the shockwaves won’t be limited to Genoa City. Kyle, who lives miles away from the town, is going to be absolutely shocked by the news.

Will Kyle return to Genoa City alone or with his family?
Susan Walters made her first appearance on Wednesday, March 23. The first thing that came to viewers’ minds when they first saw her on TV must have been the fate of her son Kyle. Obviously, he is to become an important part of her storylines but given that Michael Mealor left Y&R last year, who will be playing the part?
As per the reports, Michael Mealor himself will resume the role of Kyle. Despite exiting the soap, we have been seeing him and his wife Summer occasionally. We last saw the pair during Victoria and Ashland’s grand wedding in Italy last year. Most recently, Kyle popped up in a scene when Jack video called him to update him on the news about his half-brother Keemo Volien Abbott. The latest scoop from Soap Opera Digest confirms that Kyle is set to make a “long-term” return to the show.
Kyle’s comeback news has raised questions among the fans about Summer and Harrison. The family is currently living in Milan, where Summer is happily settled at Marquetti.
