Y&R Exit Caused Richard Burgi’s Divorce with Wife of 10 Years?

Richard Burgi Reflects on a Challenging Year of Change and Loss

You all might recognize Richard Burgi as ex-Ashland Locke from The Young and the Restless. In March 2021, he joined the cast as Ashland, but the production let him go in January 2022 for breaching their COVID protocol, and they fired Richard from the show. But that’s not all that’s been going on with Richard lately. In a touching post on Instagram, he opened up about all the changes he’s experienced in the past year.
He has had a very hard time in the past year with a lot of things happening at the same time. On his IG he wrote, “A friend of mine informed me that I am still listed as married on IMDb and Wikipedia, etc…. It has been a very trying year and a half. After losing a great job for something that had nothing to do with my work as an artist, and then, with much difficulty, my second marriage ended.” He also opened up about his divorce, “Divorce is painful and devastating but the good Lord has a way of leading you to things you need and away from those that you don’t.”
The Rollercoaster Love Life of Richard Burgi: From Two Marriages to Heartbreak and Healing
Richard has been married twice. He was first married to his wife, Lori Kahn in 1995. They also had two sons, Jack and Samuel. But that relationship ended in 2011 and then he was married to Liliana Lopez in 2012. Although we don’t have the exact reason or the date of their divorce, he has confirmed that they are no longer together. It is really crazy how fast things can change because the last time we checked on November 2022, they were renewing their vows and celebrating their 10th anniversary. So over the past 5 months, we can’t help but wonder what might have happened between them. He then went on to add, “The loss of a job, relationship or any other important thing is like a death and takes time, good friends and family or nurturing people and places to get though.”
Despite the hardships, he managed to overcome them. He has emerged from those tough times with a new perspective. And he is not gatekeeping it at all, he wants to share them with anyone who might need them. He recommends Oniya in Montana, where he found transformation and healing through staff, nature, and horses. Animals are always the right choice after all when it comes to healing. Richard also recommends visiting LeahKalish.com, the owner there, and “her husband Bruce, offers another amazing life-affirming experience for those looking for growth, healing, and change.”
