Y&R star Eric Braeden mourns loss of dear friend
Loss of a friend is one of the toughest things we ever have to face. The pain and emptiness that it leaves behind is overwhelming. Last week, The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden took to social media to mourn the loss and remember one of his dear friends, the powerful martial arts muscleman Stefanos Miltsakakis, who passed away in January 2019. The soap actor shared some fond memories of Stefanos, who was also close with his son, Christian, along with a personal photo. Keep reading to see Eric’s heartwarming tribute to his late friend.
Eric Braeden mourns a personal loss on social media
On February 9, Eric shared a personal photo of him and his late friend, Stefanos, on Twitter, remembering the legendary fighter. The actor wrote in the caption, “My and my son’s good friend, STEPHANOS MILTSIKAKIS, who was an ALL AMERICAN WRESTLER AND ONE OF THE FIRST ULTIMATE FIGHTERS!”
He revealed that his friend had died of a brain aneurysm. Stefanos was 59 at the time of his death. He died in his sleep on January 10, 2019, in Santa Monica. Eric continued, “One of the real tough guys with a deep knowledge of GREEK PHILOSOPHY! RIP, our friend!”

He shared the photo on his Instagram as well and captioned it, “In memory of my son’s and my best friends, STEPHANOS MILTSIKAKIS, who left us all a while ago! May he rest in peace! A true tough guy and philosopher!!”

Who was Eric’s late friend, Stefanos Miltsakakis?
Not only was Stephanos an accomplished fighter, but an actor, having appeared in five movies opposite Jean Claude Van Damme. Stephanos appeared as the Russian thug Red Face in 1996’s Maximum Risk and the same year, starred in Van Damme’s directorial debut, The Quest. Stephanos was also known for his primetime roles and other movies such as Best of the Best II, Cold Case, and 2003’s action movie, Daredevil.
His last role was as a bouncer in the Gerard Butler movie, Den of Thieves, in 2018. The movie was directed by Eric’s son, Christian Gudegast. On February 12, Eric also shared a photo of his late German Shepard writing, he was so protective of the grandchildren! May he RIP!
