She went on to join the Fox soap, Pacific Palisades, while Y&R went on to pick Sandra Nelson as Phyllis’s recast. That recast lasted only two years and Stafford made a comeback in 2000.

She stayed through 2013. Then she hopped on to another hit soap opera, General Hospital, and originated the role of Nina Webster. Gina Tognoni filled in for her during her absence this time and left when she once again returned in 2019.
