Ashley Abbott’s ex-lover Ravi (Abhi Sinha) lands new pilot on NBC | Will he ever return to Y&R?
Abhi Sinha was on Y&R canvas for a couple of years. His character, Ravi, came to Genoa City as an employee for Ashley’s company. He left town in the spring of 2018 and has never returned since then. Fans of Abhi were deeply saddened by his departure from Y&R. Good news is that fans may watch him on TV once again on a brand new show. What is the new show about? Here’s everything you need to know.
Abhi Sinha’s new project is called Blank Slate
As Ravi the computer engineer, we saw Abhi exhibit his amazing technical skills on Young and the Restless. Nearly four years later, Abhi is back again, ready to display his IT skills, but on a new show.
Deadline confirmed in its latest report that Sinha is all set to star opposite Matt Passmore and Floriana Lima in NBC’s newest drama pilot, Blank Slate. Written by Dean Georgias and set to be directed by Richard Shepard, the series Blank Slate reportedly draws parallels to NBC’s other long-running crime thriller The Blacklist. It’s a high-concept procedural about a government agent who may not be what he seems.
In the new series, actor Passmore will be playing the role of Special Agent Alexander McCoy, a legend in law enforcement. Sinha will play the role of Cornelius Kepler, a tech specialist who joins Maya’s Homeland Security to help the team in a special operation. The series also stars actor Dave Annable as a series regular.
Sinha announced his new gig on Instagram this April 5. “Cat’s outta the bag,” he wrote. “So grateful to work with this amazing cast and crew. Let’s get it!” So far, Blank Slate’s official release date has not been announced but you can expect the series to hit the screen in 2023.
Will Abhi Sinha ever return to Y&R again?
While we will see him in a new series next year, are there any chances that we will see him on Y&R again? Speaking on this matter, Abhi posted a lengthy explanation on Instagram in 2018.
“I want to thank every one of my fans who for months have been asking about Ravi’s return to Y&R. Honestly, I don’t know the answer,” he wrote. “However, since the new writer took over I have not been asked back. While I have been fortunate enough to NOT be killed or written off- the future is uncertain.”

He explained in his note that things like this affected him a lot in the past. But he admitted to having a different perspective on work and life. “I love acting and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world. But I realize now, that I won’t let rejection or second-guessing myself define or upset me anymore. Those things don’t control my happiness or who I am,” he wrote.
Since leaving Y&R, Sinha has appeared in various television shows like This Is Us, Animal Kingdon, and Chasing Life, and has also appeared in movies like The Conjuring 2, People Like Us, and In Time.
