Y&R Boycotts Beth Maitland From Holiday Events | What happened to Beth Maitland?
In December, we had a lot of events, there was the Daytime Emmy Awards, Christmas and of course the new year. While Beth was present on all three events on screen, she wasn’t seen at the Y&R holiday party? Was she not invited to the party or did something else happen? Let’s find out right away.

Beth Maitland has portrayed the character of Traci Abbott on “The Young and the Restless” since she made her first appearance in 1982. From the start the fans have loved her and her starting storyline as a shy and insecure girl who always had to compete with her pretty sister Ashley Abbott was definitely a journey we loved watching. Along with two Daytime Emmy Nominations for her amazing portrayal of Traci, she has also won the award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role In 1985.
It has always been great to see Beth in Young and the Restless and you know whenever Traci is back in town, it’s going to be an amazing episode. She has that warm personality that totally balances the whole cold personality of all the other Abbotts. Plus we can’t forget those epic old fights between Lauren and Traci, now can we?
Those scenes probably have a separate fan base of their own. So, obviously, no holiday feels complete without Traci in it on the show. She was there to celebrate Christmas and New years on Y&R with her prettiest Christmas tree, but in real life, Beth was not at the Y&R holiday party. There’s a party and Beth wasn’t in it, it was quite new to us but thankfully, she cleared it up.

In an interview with Soap opera Digest, Beth spilled the tea on why she skipped the Y&R holiday bash. Beth, living about 3 to 4 hours away from the Y&R studio, went for a chill Christmas this year. According to the actress, the Y&R holiday party didn’t make it to her to-do list. Why, you ask?
Well, after clocking in three round trips to the studio in a single week, dealing with a new puppy at home, and managing her mini animal kingdom, Beth decided to skip it this year. “Plus the Emmys were rescheduled for right before holiday break,” she said. And can we blame her? Not at all.

She also went on to add, “ the sweet moments of looking at the tree with a cat in my lap and my daughter playing her new bagpipes took the win.” The Y&R star, whose life revolves around her little farm and acting gigs, knows the true meaning of the season lies in those quiet, cherished moments with loved ones.
But, let’s talk about her wild road trip to Arizona to kick off the New Year with family. Beth went on a 11 and -half-hour journey through the desert which was full of chaos and zero relaxation time. She said, “I drove across the desert for 11-and-a-half hours and that road trip just about broke me. It was accidents and traffic in the weirdest places at the worst times, unpredictable rudeness.” Navigation even played its own game, diverting them to routes that were practically traffic jam central and there was a point where they couldn’t even route.

Nevertheless, Beth finally reached their destination, although they were a couple hours behind the schedule. However, they managed to salvage the situation just in time for the family celebration. Beth, recounting the adventure with a sigh, feels that, despite the road trip from hell, the essence of it all lies in the moments shared with loved ones.
In Beth’s own words, “We all turn ourselves into pretzels to make stressful deadlines, and really, the meaningful part is the quiet moments together with those we love. We’ll get back to the other soon enough. But for now, peace on earth, goodwill to all of us.” Can we get an amen to that?
So it looks like although she didn’t get time to join the Y&R party, she sure did have her family starting this new year on a right note. She also went to watch her daughter play Pops on New Year’s Eve and wrote, “ Wherever you are, may goodness rain upon you and fill the New Year! “ How was your new year?
