Y&R Comings & Goings: Casting shakeup tears down old actors
This time Young and the Restless have some staying up in Genoa City and some leaving. And you know what that means right? There’s about to be some major casting shake up that’s about to put the old actors behind the spotlight. Let’s get into it right away.
Cole Howard is here to stay and stir up big drama in GC
Y&R buzz is hinting that Cole Howard, played by J. Eddie Peck, might be sticking around in Genoa City for a hot minute. Word on the street is, he and his ex Victoria Newman, played by Amelia Heinle, are on a wild goose chase to uncover the truth about their supposedly dead daughter, Eve, who is now Claire Grace. All thanks to Aunt Jordan for switching the baby at birth and feeding her lies about her parents. So it looks like Claire might indeed be their kid, and if that’s the case, Cole is probably going to be in town for some indefinite time. Imagine the awkward family reunions and the emotional rollercoaster.
But wait, there’s more. Cole and Victoria might be rekindling some old flames. I mean, they’ve got this shared history of thinking their daughter was six feet under, and now she’s alive and kicking. Plus, Victoria’s love life is in a shaky situation with Nate Hastings and if they do hit the rocks, Cole might just swoop in as the knight in shining armor. After all, Cole, the ex husband is a much better fit. Not perfect, but at least he didn’t cheat on her while in a relationship.

If Cole and Victoria find out they still have the hots for each other, it’s game on. Plus, we can’t ignore the fact how he flew right away at the Lake house when he got the fake text from Nikki that Victoria was sick and wanted to see him. If you ask us, that says a lot.
In the meantime, Cole could be the remedy for Ashley’s love life drama. After Tucker, a stand-up guy like Cole could be just what the doctor ordered. Perhaps, he could help her exorcize Tucker from her thoughts, once and for all.
And then there’s the enigmatic Phyllis, who’s been riding solo for a while. Picture this – a Phyllis and Cole power couple, a plot twist that promises the audience a front-row seat to Phyllis attempting to rein in her chaotic side for a down-to-earth writer. They do say the opposite attracts, right?
Let’s not forget about Elena, navigating the single life after Victoria swooped in and stole her man. Cole might be a bit older, but after Nate’s immaturity, she might be up for a more mature companion.
How about a little flame reigniting with Nina? Or the real juicy idea – a Cole and Traci pairing. Picture this: the writers collaborating on a project and realizing they’re working on their own love story.
What will happen to Hayley Erin’s Claire Grace?
In addition to Cole, his supposed daughter Claire, played by Hayley Erin, is also said to be staying in the show for some more time. Now that she is about to be a Newman, there is a high chance of her staying in the picture for the place in the family. But that’s not going to be as easy as Cole and Vikki would want since she almost killed everyone. There is plenty of room for her storyline, at the top being mending her relationship with her parents. She needs to trust them, as well as win their trust, and start all over again. But that doesn’t stop there.

After she manages to make things right with her mom and dad, she needs to redeem herself in the Newman family, especially Nikki and Victor. She’s got a long way home. So expect to see her for a long time. And maybe Adam will finally pass on the “black sheep of the family” tag to her. Could this be his chance to rise a step up in the Newman clan with Claire at the bottom? It’s sure going to be interesting.
While Cole and Claire are staying, it looks like Aunt Jordan’s time is up. According to Young & Restless casting updates, Jordan is going to leave soon. She may be in hiding but she is soon going to be caught and brought to the police station. And just like that, her game will be over for good. No more causing chaos and haunting Nikki.
