Sheila Carter is alive but who did Steffy Forrester Kill that night?
Disturbing reason this actor got fired from Young and Restless
We all love Mark Grossman as Adam Newman, but do you know the reason behind Adam’s old portrayer recast? Yup, Michael Muhney, who played ex Adam, was actually fired from Y & R due to a disturbing reason involving Hunter King. So, if you want to find out, make sure to stick around till the end.
What happened between Michael Muhney and Hunter King?
Michael Muhney is no stranger to Young and the Restless. Till this day, Y & R fans still remember him. From his stay on the show from 2009 to 2014, he did give us a lot of drama that had us all hooked. It was definitely one of the peak storyline moments of Y & R. Like the time when Adam faked his own death, kidnapped Sharon’s baby, and killed Billy and Chelsea’s daughter, Delia, in an accident.
It was the darkest era of Adam, and Muhney did a fantastic job at portraying the dangerous character. Some even still say he was the better Adam when it comes to acting. So, it’s fair to say, he did make a name for himself. But it all came to an end instantly, when he got himself in a serious accusation.
In December 2013, Michael Muhney was kicked off the show, right when Hunter King, who was playing Summer Newman, at the time revealed that she was sexually harassed by the actor. As per TMZ, King allegedly informed producers that Muhney had allegedly touched her breasts, without consent, twice, during their time on set. This serious accusation was thought to be the final blow for the actor, who was already reported to have had difficulties with another co-star, soap veteran Eric Braeden. But ever since his controversial exit from the show, Muhney is still denying all the allegations, even if it was 10 years ago.

Michael Muhney denied the allegations
But after he was fired, Muhney, the dad of three called the rumors “disgusting,” and suggested that he got the boot for a totally different reason other than what people are saying. Talking to HuffPost, Muhney owned up to it, saying it was likely because of his attitude on set, and being too outspoken. TMZ also reported that he had been having a problem on the set for a long time prior to his firing, allegedly bullying and harassing Hunter, and others. And this sexual harassment case was the last draw for him.
After those allegations on him, people started taking sides and most of the fans took Muhney’s side, and started bashing King. Many of her co-stars from Young and the Restless also came to her defense, without getting into much details about the whole situation. Like Joshua Morrow, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Christel Khalil, Melissa Claire Egan and many more.
But then, Muhney came on to Twitter, and tweeted saying,
Let me be absolutely clear:
People sending hateful tweets to @HunterHaleyKing about me must STOP. That internet rumor was FALSE. It never happened. She NEVER made those accusations. She’s a talented actress, let her do her job without this nonsense.
Spread love, not hate. ❤️

Now, this got the people even more confused.
Later in a new interview on The Peloton Brief Podcast: Real Talent with Phil Gaimon, he also revealed the real source of those sexual allegations. He claims that TMZ sourced the rumor from a blogger in Florida. He hired a private investigator, who confirmed that the blogger was the one who started the story. But if King didn’t get sexually harassed by Muhney, wouldn’t she at least deny it, after all those hate that she got?
Even though leaving the show was a mix of emotions, Muhney looks back with nostalgia on his time as the rebellious Newman. In his chat with HuffPost, when asked about his best moment on the show, he said, “The first time I ever appeared. Hearing ‘Nadia’s Theme,’ and Peter Bergman announcing, ‘The role of Adam Newman will now be played by Michael Muhney.’ That’s probably the highlight.” Even if Muhney doesn’t make a comeback as his favorite soap character, fans still see him as the best Adam on “Y & R.”
This controversy still hasn’t reached a common ground even after a decade. Did Michael Muhney harass Hunter King, and if not, why hasn’t Hunter denied it? What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
