What’s Wrong with Krista Allen’s Hair on Bold and the Beautiful?
I bet we all remember how Bold and Beautiful’s star Krista Allen’s hair was at the beginning when she joined the show right? Well if you don’t then it had a lot to do with the wig. And if you are still wondering what was wrong with it, then, make sure to read till the end.
Krista Allen dons a wig on Bold and the Beautiful
Krista Allen having played in some popular shows like, Days of our lives, Baywatch Hawaii and more, came in to join the cast Bold and the Beautiful in 2021 as Taylor Hayes, taking over the role from it’s former portrayer Hunter Tylo. From the moment she aired her first episode, she was an instant hit with the fans but there were two things the fans started talking about a lot. One being how she perfectly fits the role of Taylor and the other being the wig she was wearing then. Fans were quick to express their opinions, with many not holding back on their dislike for the wig. And boy, did they have theories.
One fan in a Facebook group speculated that the reason for the wig was Taylor’s character undergoing cancer treatment, losing her hair and all. Others thought it might be a COVID precaution, with Krista not letting anyone else touch her locks. But that was not the case.
In a Soap Opera Digest interview back in 2021, Krista explained her wig situation. Apparently, right before snagging the part, her hair was short with a blonde pixie cut. With less than a week before taping, there wasn’t enough time to go back to dark brown.
So, what’s a soap star to do? Amazon wig to the rescue! Krista ordered a wig, cut it herself to channel Taylor vibes after watching tons of hair cutting tutorials on Youtube, and voila! A hairdo crisis averted.so she was not wearing the wig because she thought it was beautiful, nop, it’s because she had no other choice.
For her, building a character is a serious business, and hair, makeup, and wardrobe play a crucial role. However, the wig seemed to have a life of its own, with Krista sneakily adjusting it off-camera because it just wouldn’t stay put. She said, ” There were so many times that somebody would be talking to me and, knowing I wasn’t on camera, I’d adjust the wig because I could feel it slipping!” But she wasn’t as smooth as she thought because some fans even caught her doing the wig-check mid-hug because, apparently, it got tangled in someone’s shirt.
Taylor Hayes’ hair transformation
So if you thought wigs were easy, think again. Taylor’s wig went through a bit of an identity crisis, changing shades and lengths in the same episode. Fans were quick to notice the hair evolution, and Krista was like, “Wigs are hard, I guess!”
Fast forward to the moment we’ve all been waiting for – the wig was gone! In a February 3rd episode in 2022, Ridge finally caught a glimpse of Taylor’s new, shorter ‘do, and it was Krista’s real hair making its very first debut. “It was getting so long, it seemed a little wiggy,” Taylor explained, finally bidding farewell to what she jokingly called a “severe case of PTWD, or post-traumatic wig debacle.”
But one good thing came out of this wig saga and that’s that Krista earned some serious street cred on social media. Embracing the wig disaster with humor, she gained a bunch of new fans who appreciated her candid take on the hairy situation. “Yeah, it’s pretty bad,” she confessed, shattering any illusions of wig perfection.
Now that the Wig Gate is officially closed, Krista finally got her own hair’s evolution. From awkwardly growing out a bob to totally rockin her long real hair today, we all love it. Do you remember her wig era? Let us know in the comments below.
