Michael Damian’s Done With Danny, Leaving Y&R Soon?
It had been a while since we last had Danny staying in GC, for this long. But is his time coming to an end now? The actor, Michael Damian, said it’s time for Danny to wake up. What does that mean? Is he leaving Young and the Restless? Let’s find out right away.
Danny has a choice to make, Phyllis or Christine?
Back in September, 2023, when it was revealed that Michael Damian, who portrays the role of Danny Romalotti on Young and the Restless, was back for an extended stay, nobody thought it would be this long. And no, we’re not complaining. It has been a blast having him and especially, with his character bringing some flashback memories of the past.
You know the whole triangle love thing with Christine, Danny and Phyllis. It was like we were back to the 90s. When Danny came back, we all thought this was the time when he and Christine would finally get back together, and complete their unfinished love story, but nope, we were wrong. Phyllis had to come between them again, messing it all up.
Ever since she kissed Danny, Danny has been going from one girl to another. And honestly, all of us are getting tired of it. I mean like c’mon Danny, who do you want Phyllis or Christine? Just make up your mind. And thankfully, the wait is over guys. According to Damian and Lauralee Bell, who plays Christine, that love triangle has an expiry date. Even the actors are fed up with the love triangle. In an interview with Soaps dot com, this onscreen duo didn’t hold back on their thoughts about why it’s time to wrap things up.
Bell gets straight to the point about Christine’s breaking point with Danny’s constant wavering between her and Phyllis. Christine is really frustrated with his indecisiveness. so she’s like, “Either you have to make a decision today, or I’m done, because this is just not fun.” She also mentioned how being with Danny used to mean fun, romance, and simplicity for Christine, but now it is not. Bell said, “Obviously, a Phyllis drop in here and there like back in the day is fine. But I think it’s time, quite frankly. It’s either ‘This is it or we’re done.” And even Damian agrees that it’s time to put an end to this merry-go-round.
Is Michael Damian leaving Young and the Restless?
He gives all the credits to Christine for laying down the law, saying it was about time someone did. He thanks her for making the move in their relationship. And Bell responds with a witty remark, saying that without Christine’s push, this love triangle would drag on forever. And she really isn’t wrong.
Bell also thinks that there’s a part of Danny that enjoys the attention from fans and women, since you know he was a rock star. So, that’s probably why he found it all normal, but hey this ain’t a concert anymore. Plus, we can’t ignore the fact that there’s a lot on the line for Danny in settling down with one woman, and fans have seen this play out before.
Damian explains that Danny finally had a wake-up call in this messy love situation, when he realized he could lose Christine again. And there was no way he would let that happen to Danny, and came to his senses fast. And how can we forget that even Daniel, Danny’s son, was on team Christine. Like even Daniel knew he needed to change. The constant back-and-forth needs to stop for both Danny and Christine’s sake, putting a halt to Phyllis’s involvement in their romance. And with last week’s episode, it’s clear she’s out of the picture.
Now, both Bell and Damian promise to show their characters’ “happiness and champagne and roses” just like the old times. So, you better expect some romantic gestures on the way. Are you glad that Phyllis is finally out the way? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
