Wild Y&R Speculation: Lily Winters leave GC after news of Moses’ death
The fans have been practically shouting for Moses to come back into the scene on Young and the Restless. But it seems like the writers are playing hard to hear. Is Moses really getting the boot? Not just that, are they doing it off screen? Seriously, let’s get into it right away.
Where is Moses Winters on The Young and the Restless?
First thing first, let’s all wish the actor behind moses, Jacob Aaron Gaines, a big happy birthday. Born on November 29, Gaines is a year older and thriving while being dearly missed by Young & Restless fans. Born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California, he also went to Thousand Oaks High School just like his cast mate Joshua Morrow aka Nick Newman. Before coming to the industry, Gaines was actually torn between sports and acting. Thank the lucky stars, he chose acting and ended up in Young and the Restless.
Although Gaines isn’t much of a seasoned actor with a long list of credits yet, he has been in a couple of projects here and there before he landed the role of teen Moses in Young & Restless in March 2021. His journey in acting started back in 2019 in the series, Dimensional Shift, and the Netflix series, Fatal Affair, in 2020.
Before his big break, he was the face of AT&T, Finish Line, and Mazda in commercials. So if he looks familiar, that’s probably why. His acting journey also includes roles in Motorvation, A Screenshot to Santa, and the short film, Jerome, where he rocks the character of Mati Rivera. But he is most famously recognized for his role as Moses.
If you didn’t know, Moses is the first and only biological child of Neil Winters. Initially, Sofia was introduced as the fiancée of Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters, but later, she went on to have an affair with Neil. So when Moses was born, Sofia herself did not know who the real father of the baby was. After a paternity test, it was proved that Moses was the son of Neil just like what happened with Lily’s birth. Remember how Neil thought Lily was his biological daughter, but it turned out it was his brother Malcolm’s. You know what they say, what goes around comes back around.
Neil and Sofia were married two months after Moses was born so they could raise their son in a proper family, but the marriage did not last. Sofia left GC and took Moses with him.

When Moses returned in 2021, he met Faith and started their friendship. When he came back, he also bonded with Devon and Nate and even started an internship at the hospital. That’s not all, when Faith got bullied at school, he had her back and always defended her. But things got shaky when Nate had an allergy scare, making Moses question his whole med school plan. Plus, Faith was playing hard to get, making him wonder if she was on the same page. Eventually, Moses and Faith confessed their feelings for each other and started dating and their first kiss sealed the deal.
Later with the help of Devon, he decided to choose a career in music rather than medicine. The last time we saw him was at Mariah and Tessa’s wedding in 2022 and then he went off to college. And ever since, we have no clue what he’s doing or where he is.
Real reason Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) did not return with Faith Newman
Faith also left for college but she did come back in 2023 with a major storyline with the whole Cameron Kristen scene, but Moses? Still no information on him. Especially since he is the only bloodline of Neil Winters, will this be the end? If Moses isn’t back soon, Neil’s legacy will be in question.
Plus, the actor Gaines isn’t even active in his career anymore. Did he really go off to college in real life as well? But what does this mean? Is he leaving? We fear that we will not be able to see him for ages, like what if they soap age him into an adult Moses without being able to see much of teen Moses? Or worse, what if the writers are going to kill him off screen? They better not because that would be like saying Neil’s lineage is dead. But then again, we wouldn’t be surprised since they have done many important things off screen as well like Summer and Kyle’s wedding and Mariah and Tessa’s baby Aria’s birth. If it were to happen too, it’s going to be a low blow.
Who is young Ana Hamilton from Young and the Restless in real life?
On top of this possibility, even Lily is going to make her exit from Genoa City after everything that’s going on between Daniel and his baby mama, Heather. Maybe when she leaves town she will find out about Moses’ death. Or some happy news, maybe she will bring him back with her when she decides to come back to town. The fans have always loved unexpected returns of the characters on Young & Restless. So maybe the show might surprise us with a bigger storyline for him.
We really hope so! Even if it’s for a short one, it really would be great to see Moses back in town just like we were able to see Faith last time. Do you want to see Moses back in GC? Let us know in the comments below.
