Sheila Carter is alive but who did Steffy Forrester Kill that night?
Robert Adamson (Y&R’s ex-Noah Newman) subs in for Chad Duell on General Hospital – What happened to Chad?
This week on General Hospital, viewers got a sweet surprise. On the June 1st episode, they witnessed a major casting change that caught them off guard. Fan-favorite Chad Duell was missing in action while another daytime vet Robert Adamson, Young and the Restless’s ex Noah Newman, had replaced him. What happened to Chad Duell? Is he leaving General Hospital for good? Here’s everything you need to know.
Chad Duell took a leave of absence due to health reasons
On Wednesday, June 1st’s episode, Robert Adamson was seen taking over the role of Michael Corinthos. The role was previously played by actor Chad Duell, who has been appearing on the soap since 2010. He recently took a leave of absence due to health reasons.
Has Michael not been involved in a major storyline right now, the showrunners would not have needed to hire a new actor. But as we can see, Michael and Willow are in the middle of a legal drama with Nina over visitation rights to their son, Wiley. And seemingly, there’s no way they could have postponed the scenes until Chad returned.
Chad left the soap during such a crucial moment because of an unforeseen reason. Apparently, he suffered from covid-19 and was unable to film. He did not disclose his absence and the casting changes until the episode aired on Wednesday. Here’s what he tweeted later.
I’m good.. I’ll be back filming next week. Was covid related. Robert did great 🙂

Chad’s tweet has made one thing clear – he is not leaving the soap for good. The current casting change is temporary and he will once again resume as Michael. However, it will be several episodes before we see him back in the show – Soap Opera Digest reports. The site did not mention exactly how long it will be but said that Robert will be subbing in for Chad for “several weeks.”
GH fans are loving Robert Adamson as the new Michael Corinthos
Robert had some big shoes to fill in at General Hospital but it won’t be wrong to say that he did a great job indeed. It’s not just us saying this. Co-star Cameron Mathison, who plays the role of Drew Cain on the soap, also had something similar to say about the new Michael.
“Obviously, he’s a seasoned vet, but he came into some big, heavy days and Robert did a great job. He’s a fun guy with a really good attitude,” Cameron stated.
Many viewers also seem impressed by this casting change. “This Michael is definitely an upgrade,” one such fan tweeted. Meanwhile, another viewer tweeted, “Robert Adamson is ❤️❤️❤️❤️. I wanna keep him as Michael. Permanently. #GH”
