Victoria faces heartbreak as she fails to connect with daughter Eve (Claire)
Now that Jordan (Colleen Zenk) is done and dusted with, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) have a real chance to bond and rebuild their long lost mother-daughter relationship. But it looks like that’s not what Claire wants as she says Baby Eve is dead. So what’s that all about? Let’s find out right away.
What happened to Baby Eve/Claire on Y&R?
First thing first, let’s get a quick recap on all that happened in Young and the Restless. Claire Grace, played by Hayley Erin, first came to Genoa City as an assistant for Nikki Newman but soon, her real motives were shown to everyone. Instead of a job hunt, she was actually here to hunt down the newmans.

She kidnapped Nikki, drugged her, and locked her in a room, making her hallucinate things. But she wasn’t alone in ending the Newmans. In fact, it was all planned by none other than the ultimate villain of 2023, Jordan, and poor Claire was just a pawn dancing on Jordan’s words.
What went down between Y&R’s Melody Thomas Scott and Colleen Zenk | Nemesis in real life as well?
While it was revealed that Jordan was seeking revenge for her dead sister Eve Howard, people couldn’t understand the motive for Claire until Jordan revealed to everyone that she was the supposed long dead baby of Victoria and Cole.
This shocking revelation was a total game changer. After a little hustle and tassel, Jordan was MIA and a DNA test proved that Claire was indeed Victoria’s daughter. After realizing Jordan fed her with lies and brainwashed her against her family since she was a baby, Claire sided with her real family real quick. That’s not all, even when Jordan came back to kill Nikki, well, the drunk Nikki, Claire chose to support her grandma and go against Jordan. She even almost shot at Jordan until Nikki told her it wasn’t worth it.

Claire tells Victoria that her baby daughter is dead
So, Jordan was later caught by the police and sent to prison while Claire is here in Genoa City trying to figure out where to start her new life. Meanwhile, Victoria is confused on how to deal with her grown-up daughter that she lost at birth. It’s obvious, both are having a hard time reconnecting; Victoria is trying her best to give Claire all the love and time she couldn’t get earlier. But the recent Young & Restless episode showed us the real struggle between Victoria and Claire that had the mom in tears.
So, Victoria dropped by to visit Claire and stuck around as she slept. When Claire woke up, she seemed a bit surprised to find Victoria there. Victoria was all about making plans for her daughter, asking about therapy and whether Claire had talked to the therapist. However, Claire wasn’t opening up. She expressed feeling broken, revealing that even closing her eyes was like living a nightmare. She confessed to dreaming about shooting her aunt Jordan but couldn’t go through with it in real life.
Victoria, being the supportive mom, encouraged Claire to keep fighting and reassured her that she was strong enough to rebuild her life. But Claire wasn’t having it. She insisted she wasn’t strong and described herself as a broken shell of a person who had kidnapped and tortured the Newmans. Claire didn’t think she deserved happiness and even said that Victoria’s baby Eve was dead. She didn’t want Victoria and Cole to look at her with hate all over again. So, in the end, Claire told Victoria to go away and never come back.
Hearing this, Victoria is really heartbroken, but this is only the beginning of their newfound relationship. So, keep your head up for more mother daughter drama in Young and the Restless. But till then, make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.
