Mishael Morgan and Christel Khalil’s Journey from Hatred to Besties
We all saw in these past weeks how amazingly Scott and Zenk portrayed their characters as Nikki and Jordan in Young and Restless. When Zenk was introduced as Aunt Jordan, it was the perfect role for her. So, obviously she had to be treated well on the set. And best believe Y&R did just that. They welcomed her like they were throwing a soap opera party just for her. From the cast to the crew, the directors to the writers, everyone made her feel like she was meant to be there.
In an interview with KPIX CBS Bay Area, Zenk told them about the wonderful welcome party that she got. She said, “The fact that they welcomed me with such open arms and love…it really freed me up because of how they received me and made me feel incredibly welcome, and not just the cast. I mean, the entire production, the crew, the staff, the directors, the writers, you know, everybody from the top down…I just felt like they really wanted me there working in daytime dramas.” After all, the best deserves no less.

The fact that in their so many years working in the soap industry, they never had a conversation until Y&R is just crazy. But thankfully, it went much better than with their alter egos. She said, “My relationship with Melody Thomas Scott has just been incredible since I got here. She and I had never had a conversation before until the day I walked on the set…It’s just been fabulous. I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying that.”
So that clears everything, they might hate each other on screen, but in real life, they have created a very good friendship. We can’t wait to see more of their scenes both on screen, as well as behind the scenes. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
