Sheila Carter is alive but who did Steffy Forrester Kill that night?
Katherine K Lang Says Goodbye To Eric & John McCook | End of An Era
The emotional rollercoaster of Eric’s storyline isn’t just hitting fans; even Katherine Kelly Lang, who plays Brooke on Bold and the Beautiful, is feeling the heartbreak. Recently, she shared her sadness about a possible goodbye to Eric and the talented actor behind the character, John McCook. So, without any further ado let’s jump right into it.
Eric Forrester is leaving Bold and the Beautiful
Bold and the Beautiful has got all of us in our feels. John McCook who has been playing the iconic Eric Forrester from the first episode of Bold and Beautiful that aired in 1987, is nothing but a legend. Playing the same role for the past 36 years definitely means a lot and he has practically been a part of thousands and thousands of viewer’s lives. And now just the thought of us not being able to see him on screen everyday, is heartbreaking.
And when Eric collapsed on the floor in last week’s episode, after months and months of getting sick and having health problems, it had us all on the edge of our seats. He literally looked dead and when he didn’t wake up no matter how many times Donna called him, we thought he was done for. It was like the show telling us to be prepared for the worse that is to come. He will most probably survive this as well but just for how long, we don’t know. And many people have voiced their concerns and sadness for Eric. Among one of those is our very own B&B star as well as McCook’s co-star, Katherine Kelly Lang.
Lang is one of the OGs, being the part of the show since 1987 along with McCook. They are basically each other’s ride or die, working alongside each other for more than three decades now. If you remember Brooke and Eric have a long history which dates back to way back.
Brooke was once married to Eric which kind of makes it weird for her to date his own son, Ridge. But hey like we said, there is a lot of history here. But it’s also hard for the actress to imagine B&B without McCook.

In an interview with Soaps In Depth, Lang opened up about a scene when Brooke found out about Eric’s heartbreaking illness. She said, “Well, that’s sad, of course, you know, and all the characters have been crying lots of tears. It’s been really sad.” It’s not just the on-screen drama; even die-hard fans are hitting her up with questions, fearing this might be the final chapter for Eric.
“Definitely getting a lot of fans asking me what’s happening, you know?” she said. It’s even crazy just to wonder whether Eric is gonna make it or not. Lang also explained that it’s very important for everyone who loves him, “ It’s sad for the family, you know, the Forresters and of course, the Logans and everybody that loves him because he’s loved by everybody!”
Watching Eric grapple with his final days is a tearjerker, especially for Brooke. Their lives have been tangled up for such a longtime that it’s hitting her hard. “Brooke has two children with him,” Bridget and Rick, Lang reminded us. “They’ve always had a good friendship, and he’s always been on her side. No matter what Brooke does, it’s okay [in Eric’s eyes].”
For Lang, Eric’s been the ultimate supporter, forgiver, and lover in Brooke’s life, and we totally agree on that. They do have a special bond that just never seems to fade away no matter what happened between them.
Although she didn’t tell us if Eric would survive this, she sure showed us how much she loves him. But the million-dollar question still remains; is this really the end of the Eric era, or is there a glimmer of hope to shake up his fate? Let us know in the comments below.
