Jack Abbott faces crisis after Allie denies accepting him as her grandfather
Jack reaches LA trying to find more information about his dead son Keemo Volien Abbott and ends up meeting a young girl, a granddaughter he never knew existed. Shockingly, she does not want to accept him as her grandfather. Why? Read on to find out.
Jack finds more than he bargained for
A couple of weeks ago, Jack learned heartbreaking information on the internet that his estranged son Keemo Volien Abbott was no longer alive. He learned that Keemo was in Los Angeles when he passed away. So he, along with Phyllis, goes there to delve into his son’s life and know how he spent his last days on the earth. But upon reaching LA, he finds more than he bargained for.
First, Jack and Phyllis come across a home that belonged to Keemo. They decide to go through it and they find some of Keemo’s belongings, including letters he had written to Jack. He never sent them. So Jack never heard from his son that he is forgiven.
You may remember, when Keemo first came to town, he resented Jack for abandoning him. He did not know that Jack was unbeknown to his birth, to begin with. So after learning the truth, he forgave him. Keemo once again started hating Jack after his mom Luan died because Jack had kept her illness a secret from him. Keemo eventually left GC with his half-sister and never returned.
Jack’s grown-up granddaughter Allie doesn’t want anything to do with him
In LA, Jack finds letters from Keemo which said he forgave him for keeping Luan’s illness a secret. Along with the letters, he also finds a photograph of his son with a young girl named Allie.
Realizing the young girl could be connected to his dead son, Jack sets out to find her. This week he meets the girl and finds out that she is indeed his granddaughter. However, Allie refuses to believe that Jack is her grandfather.
Apparently, Keemo had taken his grandfather’s name Hao Nguyen as his own after leaving GC. So when Jack tells Allie that he was there because of Hao Nguyen, she brushes him off saying it’s a very common name and that he must have him confused with someone else.
Jack tries to convince the young lady that her father was his son but Allie straightforwardly mentions that her dad never mentioned Jack. She also tells that her father never knew his dad, which wasn’t the whole truth. Jack explains how his son did not know him until he was a young adult and how they reunited but she doesn’t buy into it.
Jack then shows her a picture of himself with Luan, her grandmother. And although Luan had died before she was born, she immediately recognizes her. Jack tells her that it was a picture from their wedding, where Keemo was his best man. Allie still argues that the picture does not prove that he’s her grandfather. Jack ultimately shows her legal papers which clearly state that Keemo was his son.
Allie was so confused why her dad would hide such information from her and Jack explains to her how they drifted apart after Luan’s death. Allie then questions him about how he got there despite not having any contact with her dad.
Jack opens up about the mysterious texts he had received and explains how they found out on the internet about his son’s demise. He also shows her the letters her father had written to him and explains how they could have reunited once again if he was still alive.
Allie is shaken and she bursts into tears. The worst part is that she can’t face the fact that her dad is gone, and with him, a side of him that she never knew existed has gone too. Worried about her condition, Jack asks her if she has anyone to help her get through this and she reveals that her parents divorced a few years ago. Her mother moved to the east coast and she lived with her dad. It kills Jack to know that his granddaughter is alone but she insists she will be fine.

The mystery of Jack’s text messages darkens
While Jack is worried for Allie, Phyllis reminds him of a bigger problem that is looming over them. Phyllis wonders if Allie’s mother has anything to do with the text messages that Jack received while he was in GC but Allie doesn’t think her mother knew about any of this. She then tells Jack she does not want anything to do with him and asks him to forget this ever happened.
Jack understands what his granddaughter must be going through and agrees to her demands. But before leaving he asks if he can keep Keemo’s belongings with him, which Allie allows. He also asks her to keep her grandmother’s necklace. She refuses and walks away.
Everything aside, Jack and Phyllis still can’t figure out who might’ve sent the text messages. Will they even know it ever? Could it be possible that Keemo is still alive and just wants to know if Jack actually cares about him? Stay connected with us to find out.
