Chelsea and Rey’s forbidden romance results in a baby | Leave GC to raise their family
You might’ve already known that Rey Rosales’ days in Genoa City are numbered. Actor Jordi Vilasuso confirmed the news last week on Instagram. We are yet to know when Rey will make his final appearance on Y&R but there are some theories we want to share with you regarding how he might bid farewell to fans. Keep watching to know them all.
Could Rey Rosales be dying on Y&R?
Reports suggest that Rey will make his final appearance on Y&R sometime this spring. So when that happens, there are a couple of ways he might leave the show.
For the past several months, Rey has been without a proper front-burner storyline. Now that he is to leave the show, writers might have planned an explosive exit storyline. How? By putting the character to rest for good. You heard it right! Rey’s storyline on Y&R may be ending permanently with him dying in the line of duty.
Viewers may remember, earlier this year, he and Chance went on a stakeout together. They were about to catch the thief they were looking for when Chance had a panic attack. Chance insists he’s over that incident and is ready to join the force again. So speculations suggest that Rey may agree to take him back, and they go on another stakeout, where Chance will have another panic attack. The only difference this time would be that Chance makes a wrong move that ends up killing Rey.
Jordi Vilasuso’s contract indicates Rey Rosales’s possible return in the future
This storyline would have perfectly made sense if Jordi had not revealed signing a three-year contract with Y&R in his latest podcast episode. According to the actor, he signed the contract in October 2021. “But in these contracts, there are six-month intervals where the show can decide not to resign you for the next six months. So that’s what happened,” he told.
Considering this clause from Jordi’s contract, it’s safe to assume that Rey will be back in GC again. So how will he leave to begin with? Here’s another wild speculation.
We know Rey did not have the best of relationships with his ex-wife Mia. But when he learned that she was pregnant, he was thrilled. He was enamored with the idea of becoming a dad. Unfortunately, his brother Arturo turned out to be the real baby daddy.
Next, Rey married Sharon, who already had three grown children. He accepted Sharon’s children as his own and decided that a biological kid just wasn’t in the cards for him.
As of late, Rey and Chelsea have been spending a lot of time together. Clearly, they’ve got some spark and rumors have been long suggesting that they might come a lot closer than they should, eventually leading to Chelsea’s shocking pregnancy.
Of course, Rey will be taken aback when he first learns of Chelsea’s pregnancy. But eventually, he will be grateful for the opportunity and may decide to leave Sharon for his child. Then, he and Chelsea may leave GC and move to some new place to raise their family.
