These Villains Make Y&R The Best Soap | Swoon-Worthy Bad Guys
It’s been 50 years of the Young and the Restless and you know in these past decades there have been many villains that add the extra spice to the drama. I mean what is a soap drama without the baddest villains right? So, every now and then we must appreciate the villains of the show, who keep us on our feets and entertain us all the time. That is exactly why we bring you the top 5 villains who make Young and the Restless the absolute best. Let’s get into it right away.
Number 5. Victor Newman
Victor Newman is literally the foundation of villains on Y&R, you can call him the founding father of bad guys on the show. This guy’s been tearing through Genoa City for what feels like forever, always on a ruthless streak. Whether he’s destroying companies or meddling in his adult kids, Nick, Victoria, and Adam’s lives. It’s like he’s playing a never-ending game of family chess.
But here’s the crazy part: as much as you should totally hate Victor, there’s something oddly charming about him. Like, yeah, he’s this cold-hearted, business tycoon with a knack for turning his kids against each other, but when he’s with his wife Nikki, it’s all rainbows and butterflies. Their love story kind of humanizes the guy.
But at the beginning of this year, there was a moment where it seemed like Victor might be taking a chill pill, but nope, he said, “not today”. He made this epic comeback, pulling off a slick move to reclaim the throne at Newman Enterprises, leaving his kids in the dust. It’s the kind of move that should have you rolling your eyes, but Victor’s got this thing for staying one step ahead, making it oddly tempting to secretly root for the guy. You want to hate him, but dang, he’s just too good at being the bad guy.
Number 4. Adam Newman
Like father, like son, of course. I mean everybody calls him the black sheep of the family so he is bound to turn out as the rebellious bad guy. But it seems, he can never catch a break trying to meet the crazy high standards set by his big shot dad. His rocky relationships with Nick and Victoria, his siblings, don’t help either. But here’s the kicker, Adam’s own actions, all that self-serving stuff, mess things up even more. Just like pops, Adam’s got his eyes set on ruling the corporate world, and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. Blackmail and espionage? Yup, that’s his jam.
But hold up, there’s more to Adam than meets the eye. He’s got this vulnerable side that pops up every now and then, and you can’t help but feel for the guy. He knows he’s got issues, and he’s not afraid to admit it. Even though he keeps making the same mistakes, those moments where he talks about changing his ways hit you right in the feels.
Oh, and let’s not forget his softer side with his son, Connor Newman and his love, Sally. Despite all the corporate drama, Adam’s a dad who drops everything when his kid needs him and with Sally we get to see a whole new side of him that we love. It’s the kind of stuff that makes you root for the guy, even if he’s knee-deep in business shenanigans.

Number 3. Phyllis Summers
Phyllis Summers, played by Michelle Stafford, has been causing trouble on “The Young and the Restless” from the moment she stepped foot in GC. From shady stuff like running over Christine Williams to framing Diane Jenkins for murder and hacking into Billy Abbott’s bank account, she’s no stranger to bending or breaking the law.
I mean her drugging Danny to get pregnant was a big giveaway. And let’s not forget her latest stunt in 2023, faking her own murder to frame Diane, leading to her daughter Summer’s marriage with Kyle Abbott falling apart.
But here’s the thing about Phyllis – she’s like the queen of sass and humor. Even when she’s caught red-handed, she plays it off with this “who, me?” act that’s just too entertaining. Despite causing chaos in Genoa City and wrecking lives left and right, it’s hard not to find her hilarious and strangely lovable. She’s the kind of person you’d want to hang out with, despite all the craziness.
So, Phyllis has earned her spot as a beloved bad girl. Because let’s face it, no matter what she does, Phyllis has this charm that’s hard to resist.
Number 2. Tucker McCall
When Tucker McCall made a comeback to “The Young and the Restless” in 2022, he had his eyes set on taking over pretty much every major company in Genoa City. Just like some others on this list, Tucker has no issues betraying his own family, as seen in his attempts to overthrow Chancellor-Winters and Jabot Cosmetics. Even though his son Devon Hamilton partly owns Chancellor-Winters, and Jabot is the family business of his longtime love interest, Ashley Abbott.
When Tucker feels slighted, he’s not the type to take it lightly. He goes all out wreaking havoc on anyone and everyone in his path. But Tucker’s not just some ruthless dude. He’s got this charm that’s hard to ignore.
Quick with a joke and oozing sex appeal, there’s a lot to both love and hate about him. People know he’s playing the game, acting like a snake in the grass, but somehow, nobody can resist getting involved in his schemes. But he sure has a weakness and that’s the ladies. Cheating comes as a plus in this bad guy. But hey, we all can agree that there’s something captivating about Tucker, even if he’s up to some shady business.
Number 1. Audra Charles
Lastly, our latest villain of GC, Audra Charles, is like this mysterious puzzle on “The Young and the Restless,” and while there’s still a bunch we don’t know about her, she’s proven to be as cutthroat in the business game as anyone else. In Y&R, it’s the big shots in the industry who rise to the top, and Audra has definitely shown she’s a contender. She first popped up as Noah Newman’s mysterious ex, but since then, she’s managed to get on the radar of every major player in town.
Aligned with Tucker McCall, she had a thing with Kyle Abbott and even held down the fort as the CEO/COO of Newman Media. The way she effortlessly fools everyone in her climb up the ladder makes it hard not to cheer for her. Unlike many in town born into wealth, Audra earned her stripes in the corporate world through her own manipulation.
Fans are totally into Audra’s cunning ways too and, let’s be real, Audra’s brand of sneakiness is just too good to resist and is a good one we’ve seen in a while. Which is your current favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
