Missing Y&R actress back in action + New teen talent set to make debut
The Young and the Restless had one of its cast members absent from the set since late June. The latest update has it that the actress is back in action, ready to rock the screen once again. Meanwhile, casting news states that the soap is ready to introduce a brand new teen role, which will be recurring on the show. Who is the new member of the Y&R family and who is the returning star? Melissa Ordway had the best of Daytime Emmys from home with husband and kids
You may know that Melissa Ordway tested positive for COVID-19 just shy of this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards. As a result, the actress had to stay home, isolated with her family, while her castmates attended the awards.
Melissa shared the news on Instagram and Twitter stating she was heartbroken by the unforeseen medical crisis. It was especially hard for her to miss the awards this year since she had received her first-ever nomination.
Melissa had planned to go to the awards with her parents. That plan failed but she had a great time at home with her husband Justin Gaston, Y&R’s temporary Chance Chancellor, and their two adorable daughters, Olivia and Sophie. They dressed up, Justin even made her hair, and the girls cheered for their momma from home.

Melissa shared on her Instagram last week that her quarantine is finally over and that she is back on The Young and the Restless’s set once again. “Abby’s back. After Monte Carlo and then quarantine it feels good to be back in Genoa City,” Melissa wrote, sharing a cute picture of her with her onscreen husband Conner Floyd.

Who is the new teenager joining The Young and the Restless?
Y&R recently announced that it is looking forward to casting the role of a teen boy named Aiden. Reportedly, the new role will be recurring.
Y&R has yet to find the actor who will be playing the role of Aiden but you can get an idea about how he may look by reading this casting call.
“Aiden is 13 years old, a dynamic teen with blond or light brown hair. Athletic, whip-smart, and perceptive, he faces now the growing angst and confusion of adolescence, which is beginning to give him an edge. He’s learning to hide his sensitivity behind a dry, clever wit,” Soap Hub stated.
It further stated that the role of Aiden is under-five-lines and principal two episodes as of now but there will be more storylines for him in the future. Perhaps he may have a serious connection with someone in Genoa City but who will that be? We will be back with updates soon.
