The Young and the Restless Major Comings & Goings: Who’s in and who’s out?
This week, get ready for a blast from the past in Genoa City as some of the fan-favorite characters make their return. It’s not about new faces this time, it’s all about those familiar ones we can’t help but adore. Stay tuned to discover who’s making a comeback or saying their goodbyes on The Young and the Restless this week.
Hayley Erin back at Y&R after 13 years
The first cast making a serious comeback after ages is Hayley Erin. No one really saw this one coming, and I’m pretty sure most of us also thought it was impossible. If you’ve been a fan of The Young and the Restless for a longtime, then you will definitely recognize her. About 13 years ago, Hayley Erin played the role of Abby Newman from 2008 to 2010. But her soap journey didn’t end there. She went on to play as Kiki Jerome on General hospital in 2015 and left the show in 2019 after her character was killed off.

After her GH days, she became even more famous when she played the role of Taylor Hotchkiss in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionist. And now she is back in Y&R with a brand new role as Claire Grace. She made her first appearance on the Y&R canvas on October 2 and she is already a woman of mystery. She is Nikki Newman’s new assistant but since it’s the soap, it’s never that simple. Claire has hidden motives and intentions and her connection to Tucker McCall is just even more shady.

Jess Walton returns to GC to face off Mamie Johnson
Another cast member returning to Genoa City is Jess Walton, aka Jill Abbott. Mama Abbott is making her way back after Mamie’s return just caused some drama.
Mamie, who used to be Jill’s maid, owns a certain part of her own company. To make matters worse, Mamie got the cash to knock Jill off her pedestal only because, back in the day, she paid her a hefty sum to stay away from John.

Jill has already been popping up on video calls with Devon, Lily, and Eric recently. And it turns out, she is bringing the fight back home. She is flying out to GC and is set to appear on screen from October 5. With Jess Walton back in the game, it looks like Jill and Mamie are about to have a serious throwdown.
Nina Webster has business too in Genoa City
Among those familiar cast, another one returning to GC is Tricia Cast, who plays the role of Nina Webster. Cast has always been the only one playing the role and that’s since 1986. Even though she technically waved goodbye to the soap in 2001, she’s been popping in from time to time over the years. The last time we saw her was in March 2023 to join the Y&R gang for their 50th-anniversary bash. Plus, how could we forget the moment when she gave a piece of her mind to Abby for breaking her son’s heart, and now, she is coming back again.

Lauralee Bell made the announcement on her Instagram, and then over to Cast’s own IG, she posted selfies with Bell and Tracey out and about having drinks, with the caption, “Fun evening after work with my girls.” We all know her visit is never simple. So maybe this time, it’s to meet his son, Chance’s new girlfriend, Sharon. While we don’t have the exact date of her return, it is set to be someday this month, in October.
As for characters going out, there are none so far. By the way, did you see Hayley Erin’s new character? What do you guys think her connection with Tucker is about? Let us know in the comments below.
