Y&R actress Susan Walters opens up about deep personal tragedy on Instagram
Heart-wrenching news hit Y&R star Susan Walters recently as she took to Instagram to share a somber tribute to her beloved pet. In a deeply emotional post, she opened up about the passing of her dear furry friend. Stay tuned to know about it.
Susan Walters’s beloved pet’s death seems to have taken a toll on her
Soap icon Susan Walters joined the cast of The Young and The Restless as Diane Jenkins from 2001 to 2004. After a long break, she returned to the show in March 2022, and since then she has been doing a fabulous job of portraying Diane. And when it comes to real life, by now we all know, she loves to keep us updated about her life on her social media.
From the very moment her first granddaughter, Nora, entered the scene, it’s like Susan Walters transformed into Nora’s biggest fan. And hey, we’re not complaining, keep them coming, am I right? We’ve witnessed Nora’s growth, celebrated her first birthday, and soaked in all the cherished moments that bring joy to Susan’s heart. However, this time around, Walters shared a particularly emotional post that I think many of us can relate to.
It’s been a year since Walters and her family lost their precious puppy. With a beautiful photo of her dog, Oscar, she wrote, “Not a day has gone by in the last year that I haven’t missed this dog of a lifetime.”

In December 2022, the heartbreak hit the CBS soap star as she shared the devastating news of Oscar’s passing, expressing gratitude for the 11 wonderful years they had together. Susan Walters reflected, “We were lucky to have Oscar for 11 years, and he will be with me always,” and wrote, “The epitome of “Who rescued who.”
Before that heartbreaking news, she treated her followers to an adorable side-by-side pic of Oscar and her granddaughter Nora, both snuggled up in blankets, with the capiton, “Who wore it best?” And everytime Walters was away from home, she would share a glimpse of her dearly missed “loverboy.”

One of the best pictures of Oscar has got to be this one, when he was camouflaging the couch. From 11 years together to not seeing or hearing Oscar walk around has got to be too hard for Walters. But all the memories will always be with her.
While no one can really replace Oscar, Susan still has two other goodboys keeping her company. Frito, who is the sweetest boy ever, and Mac, Nora’s bestie. Frito was also a rescue dog just like Oscar, and January 2024 marks a year for Frito since Susan and Linden brought him home.
Nora definitely has got two good boys to play around with. Did you also have a precious pet at home? Let us know in the comments below.
