Moving to NYC at 18 to make it big, just look how far she has come. And to start her new year, 2024, she also gave an interview answering the top 5 burning questions for her. Walters has always been an outdoorsy person. When she is not on the set of Y&R, you can always find her either hiking or cycling with her buddies, or spending the whole day with her cutest granddaughter. If you’ve been following Walters on her Instagram handle, then you’ve probably seen she has this thrill for adventure.
Turns out, she has this small dream of opening up a bikers’ café too. In the interview with the Soap Opera Digest, Walters revealed that she wanted to open a bike shop, as well as a café with great coffee. Knowing how much she loves biking, it sounds like a perfect side job for her. It could be a place where everyone could share their biking stories too.
Over to the next thing that she loves, that’s obviously spending time with her first ever grandbaby, Nora. Walters wishes she could have more time to spend with her. Walters and her husband, Linden Ashby have two daughters – Grace and Savannah, and finally about 3 decades later, Susan got to be a grandma to Grace’s little one, Nora Frances, born in 2022. From the moment Susan became a grandma, she has been obsessed with Nora in the cutest way possible. She just can’t stop posting about her. Since Nora just turned 1 year old back in August 2023, it’s like time flying by. So, we totally get it, she doesn’t want to miss out on her kids’ life.
But here’s a fun fact: Did you know Walters believes in ghosts as well? She’s got some real close people who have claimed that they have seen ghosts in their homes. So she believes that ghosts actually exist. And if you’ve been wondering what Susan would do if she wasn’t in the acting line, then she just revealed that she would love to master the art of cutting and coloring hair, giving some at-home services. Looking at her hair, it would definitely take us to her salon. Don’t you think so?
Now, that’s not the end of the story either, she saved the best for the last. In the interview, she gave away a shocking confession regarding her marriage to the love of her life. Apparently, the biggest leap of faith that she has taken in her life was marrying her husband, Linden Ashby at just the age of 22. And looks like all the risk was worth it, because 37 years later, they are still made for each other and madly in love. Linden and Susan first met each other at the set of Loving when they played cousins, Lorna and Curtis. Just after six months, on April 19, 1986, the couple tied the knot at the Children’s Chapel of St. Bartholomew’s Church in N.Y.C. Remember the saying? “When you know, you know.” It is exactly that for these two.

Although she doesn’t regret her decision one bit, she looks back and often wonders what was going on in her head taking such a big risk at such a short time. In an interview in 2022, Susan revealed that years after their wedding, she went to her mom and said, “You never said anything about the fact that I was marrying this person after knowing him for less than six months and I was only 22. What were you thinking?” What makes their marriage even more special is that these actors didn’t even take time off from their job for their wedding. The dedication to their career was at peak for sure.
So, their wedding was on a Saturday and both of them were working on Friday, as well as the following Monday. On the morning of their wedding day, Walters and her dad jogged eight miles in Central Park, probably to clear her head. Then she not only did her own makeup but also her mom’s. That was not even the end of the hectic day. On the way to their wedding venue, they stumbled upon a horse-drawn carriage and hopped on to cruise to the church. It was definitely like something out of a movie.
Since then, these two have not only been together in life but also starred in a couple of shows together too, like Melrose Place, Teen Wolf, and of course, the most recent one being Young & the Restless. Linden still remembers to appreciate his wife, and in an Instagram post, he wrote, “She’s not my mom, but she is the mom of my kids, and the grand mom of my grandkids, and the woman I love more than anything else in the world.” These two really hit the jackpot in the love department. Susan’s leap of faith turned out to be one of the best decisions she ever made.
