How many wives has Nick Newman had on Young and Restless?

Nick Newman has had quite a love life during his long tenure on the Young and the Restless. After Joshua Morrow stepped into the role in 1994, the character has been involved in a series of exciting romances. But not all of them have turned into marriages. As a matter of fact, the character of Nick Newman has been married a relatively low number of times compared to other Y&R residents who have also been on the show for decades. While Sharon may be the love of Nick’s life, over the years he has been married to other women as well. Let’s take a look at all the times Nick Newman has been married on the Young and the Restless.

Nick and Sharon married right out of high school

When an adult Nick Newman debuted on the sudser, he was just a high school student. You may remember that Nick and Sharon were teenagers in love when they first met. Their relationship suffered because Nikki thought Sharon was a gold digger.

When Sharon’s ex, Matt Clark, exposed her past, revealing to Nick that she had given up a baby for adoption, Sharon and Nick broke up briefly. They reunited and tied the knot for the first time in February 1996. The couple were married for around a decade after this, which is quite a long time in the soap world, but their marriage wasn’t without scandals.

Sharon’s then best friend, Grace Turner, seduced Nick, which caused the pair to break up for several months. In 2002, Sharon had an affair of her own. Nick tried to forgive her but Sharon kissing Victor caused additional tension in their marriage.

Sharon and Nick called it quits for real after their daughter Cassie died in a car accident and Nick cheated on Sharon with Phyllis Summers. Since then, the duo have remarried twice but both marriages have failed.

Nick and Phyllis’ marriage didn’t last long

Nick’s second wife was Phyllis whom he married when she was pregnant with their daughter Summer, although he didn’t know that at the time. Nick and Phyllis’ marriage didn’t last long as Nick slept with Sharon, resulting in the birth of their daughter, Faith.

He also had short lived relationships with Diane Jenkins and Avery Clark while he and Phyllis were broken up. The popular pair tried to make it work several times, but they have never remarried. While Sharon and Phyllis are Nick’s most popular ex-wives on the show, you may have forgotten that he was once briefly married to another woman.

Nick’s third wife died in a car accident

During his custody battle with Sharon over Faith, Nick dated Sage Warner. When she got pregnant, she didn’t know if the baby was Nick’s or his brother, Adam’s. But Nick claimed the baby as his and tied the knot with Sage. In a classic baby swap storyline, Patty Williams gave the baby to Sharon and her husband Dylan. Sadly, Sage died in a car crash soon after finding out that Sharon had been raising her son.

Fast forward to present day, Nick and Sharon are both single again and Nick has been supporting his ex as she deals with the grief of losing her last husband, Rey Rosales. This has led to speculations the writers could bring these former lovers back together once again.
