Y&R’s 3 Major Returns Turn GC Upside Down | Y&R Comings & Goings
Y’all better be ready because there are some more blasts from the past coming to Genoa City to shake things up for good. These are one’s you’ve been waiting for. So, let’s jump right in to see which characters are coming back this time. Recently, the Young and the Restless have been bringing back many old characters back to screen. And they have been our absolute favorite except for some of course. As week after week we have new returns, fans are hoping to see their favorite ones making a comeback too. So let’s see if this week’s arrival happens to be your favorite.
1. Hayley Erin

You probably know Hayley Erin, she’s a former cast member of The Young and the Restless and She portrayed the role of Abby Newman from 2008 to 2010, before passing the torch to Marcy Rylan in 2013 and then Melissa Ordway. But don’t sweat it, Melissa’s got the “Abby” title locked down and guess what? Hayley’s making a comeback on Y&R next month in a whole new role.
After her Y&R stint, Hayley’s been everywhere, from the feature film, “New Life” to even popping up in the series, “Modern Family.” And you can’t escape the soap opera pull, am I right? She rocked General Hospital as Kiki from 2015 and made her exit after her character, Kiki, was killed by a crazy murderer in 2019, even snagging a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Actress. But wait, there’s more! She also joined the cast of “The Perfectionist,” a spinoff of Pretty Little Liars, as Taylor and soon, she is back on Young and the restless.
Hayley is all geared up to take on the role of Claire, the fresh face at Newman Media. And let me tell you, she is in for a wild ride because the drama at Newman Enterprises is off the charts! Victor Newman is cooking up some major schemes, and his daughter, Victoria Newman is gearing up for an all-out battle with him. So, where does she fall in all this drama, we have to wait to see that.
2. Michael Damian

Michael Damian is making a grand return as Danny on September 28, and Y&R fans are absolutely thrilled. Last time we saw Danny return briefly was for Y&R’s 50th Anniversary and Phyllis’s fake funeral in March 2023. So, this time he is coming for a long stay.
Danny has been in a sticky situation for a longtime especially when it comes to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Christine (Lauralee Bell). Danny and Christine, aka Cricket, went from lukewarm to passionate love. They even tried to meddle in their friend Nina’s love life, but it backfired when Danny faced drug charges thanks to David Kimble.
After legal complications, Danny and Christine finally tied the knot in Hawaii. However, their marriage faced challenges due to Danny’s constant touring and some stalkers, including Michael.

A crazy fan named Phyllis entered the picture, determined to have a mini-Danny. She managed to get pregnant with his child, Daniel Romalotti, leading to Danny and Christine’s divorce and a brief marriage to Phyllis.
A paternity test later revealed Brian Hamilton as Daniel’s real father, but Danny still fought for custody. There were love triangles involving Christine and Paul, a kidney transplant from Michael, and Danny leaving for a European tour.
Now since he is coming back, many are speculating that Danny might reconnect with his first love, Christine, especially since she’s divorced from Paul and single. And with Phyllis in the mix, there could be another romantic triangle brewing, especially if she sees Danny getting cozy with her enemies. Plus Phyllis needs a friend too in the city right?
3. Veronica Redd

Another return coming soon is Veronica Redd. Veronica Redd is coming back as Mamie Johnson in The Young and the Restless, starting September 26. Mamie, originally the Abbott family’s housekeeper, turned into way more than that. She practically became the mom Jack, Ashley, and Traci never had from Dina.
Even though Veronica Redd played Mamie until 2004 and then waved goodbye, her legacy still lives on in the show. Mamie was a total game-changer. She broke all the stereotypes, showing that Black women in daytime TV could be powerful and influential, not just in the background. It’s no wonder everyone is thrilled to see her back in action.
Now, we know she’s making a comeback, but what’s the scoop? Is it all sunshine and rainbows in Genoa City, or are we in for some jaw-dropping drama? It looks like Mamie’s back to reconnect with her family, but who knows what secrets or big news she’s got up her sleeve?
Mamie’s return could shake up the Abbott family drama, and her guidance might be just what some characters need to get back on track. We’re crossing our fingers for a feel-good storyline, but hey, a little drama could keep us hooked, right? So who are you waiting for the most to see? Let us know in the comments below.
