Sheila Carter is alive but who did Steffy Forrester Kill that night?
Who is Devon Hamilton Winters? What happened to him in Y&R?
Devon Hamilton was first introduced in Young and the Restless back in 2004. Portrayed by Bryton James from the very beginning, Devon has been through all the thick and thins of Genoa City. Devon had a rough start, bouncing around group homes until Drucilla and Neil Winters took him in. He lost his hearing to meningitis but got it back with a cochlear implant. Then in 2006, they officially adopted him, but then Dru disappeared.
Devon started seeing Roxanne, who was friends with his sister Lily Winters. He also got to know his aunt Tyra and her adopted daughter Ana, who turned out to be his half-sister. Both had been abandoned by their mother, Yolanda. Meanwhile, Neil was married to Karen, but Devon caught him cheating with Tyra. And surprise, Tyra was also adopted into the family! Devon ended up in an affair with Tyra, too. Roxanne broke things off, and Tyra left town with Ana.
After finishing college, Devon landed a position at Tucker McCall’s music label where he collaborated with Noah Newman. However, he lost his job there and was then recruited by Katherine Chancellor to manage her new label. During this time, Devon discovered Tucker was actually his biological father and reunited with his mother, who now goes by Harmony. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t sign Angelina Veneziano and eventually closed down his label, transitioning to a marketing role at Jabot Cosmetics. When Katherine passed away, Devon was shocked to find out he inherited most of her wealth, which left him confused at first.
Devon bought the Genoa City Athletic Club and put Lily and Cane Ashby to manage it. He developed feelings for Hilary Curtis, but was heartbroken when she married Neil. Despite her marriage, Devon confessed his love to Hilary, and they eventually began a secret affair due to Neil’s blindness after he got electrocuted. However, Neil regained his sight and caught them together. Their relationship faced further turmoil when they survived a plane crash, with Hilary claiming she only pretended to love Devon for revenge. Eventually, she confessed that she was pushing him away so he could repair his bond with his father.
After splitting from Neil, Hilary tied the knot with Devon, but things took a twist when she vanished during their honeymoon. Devon was under the spotlight as the prime suspect, but it turned out Neil had actually rescued her after an accident. Hilary woke up with amnesia, thinking she was Neil’s wife. Even after regaining her memory, she couldn’t recall her love for Devon. Trying to patch things up with Neil didn’t work out, so Hilary turned back to Devon, but he wasn’t sure if he could trust her feelings anymore.
Devon’s attempt to grease some palms at GC Buzz regarding Jack Abbott’s news, blew up in his face, leading him to buy the whole production company. Hilary persuaded him to keep the show running but change its tone. He agreed, hiring her as the main anchor. However, their visions clashed – Devon aimed for responsible reporting, while Hilary chased ratings at any cost. To keep her in line, he brought in Mariah Copeland, sparking instant friction between the two.
